The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF780 36-inch large format printer builds on Canon’s award winning line of 5-color printers, and provides enhancements in both hardware, and software capabilities. The iPF780 device is capable of producing an Arch D (24″ x 36″) print in up to 21 seconds using Economy mode, and an Arch E (33.1″ x 46.8″) print in up to 41 seconds! The printer has the capability of accommodating 300ml ink tanks, geared towards lowering the cost per print. The included Sub-ink tank system allows for users to use all of the ink in the tank before replacing, while also replacing the empty ink tanks on-the-fly without having to stop a job mid-print and sacrifice print quality.
From a software perspective, the iPF780 printer comes loaded with user-friendly software solutions that are ready to be used right out of the box. Direct Print & Share, Canon’s cloud-based portal solution1, is available as a download and allows for files to be uploaded, downloaded, shared and printed from almost anywhere in the world! Also downloadable is a mobile printing app, imagePROGRAF Print Utility2, allows for PDFs to be printed through use of an Apple© iPad©. The Accounting Manager software allows users to track job costs, while the Print Plug-in for Microsoft Office enables for documents created with Word, Excel or Powerpoint to be printed in large format. Built to put advanced printing technologies into the hands of artists and photographers, the 60″ iPF9400 will help to fulfill your creative potential like never before. With the iPF9400, Canon delivers impressive 60″ color output, strength in paper handling and speed in output – everything a professional needs to productively and efficiently create enhanced color materials. An incredibly large color spectrum is produced by the 12-Color LUCIA EX pigment ink set, which also provides better scratch resistance and smoother gradations. The new Multi-sensor included with this printer provides improved color density detection and allows for a full calibration to be completed within 15 minutes, with the ability to use non-Canon branded media. A new Color Calibration Management System allows for color calibration targets to be created using the iPF6450 with optional spectrophotometer and shared across all new iPFX400 12-color printers, and the included software allows for all printers on the network to be monitored from one central location. Borderless printing of up to 60” is now possible with this printer and the new economy print mode allows for quality printing with limited ink usage. In highest print mode, the order of ink application and layering is optimized to maintain the highest print quality with fewer passes, making this mode twice as fast compared to previous models. The iPF9400 is also equipped with a large 250GB hard drive, geared to increase productivity in high volume printing and streamlined workflows, while allowing for faster processing of large files as well as the ability to reprint jobs directly from the printer.
To expand printing options and capabilities, the iPF9400 printer comes bundled with a Print Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, Digital Photo Professional, and Microsoft Office. The enhanced Print Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop includes a new Adjustment Pattern Setting which allows for multiples of an image to be printed at once with different color values implemented and displayed. Gallery wraps for canvas prints can now be created using the new Gallery Wrap Feature. To improve versatility, the iPF9400 has a media configuration tool which allows customers to not only utilize existing Canon-branded media, but also with third party media.
